Workshop for the Migration Museum
It was such an exciting day travelling from Manchester to London to deliver a workshop about the meaningful involvement of people with lived experience. We do quite different areas when it comes to workshops, but this one, we should admit, is our favourite.
This is logical, as the idea of meaningful involvement eventually resulted in creating A&M Consultancy. Why is “meaningful involvement” important to us? Because we want to highlight that lived experience + expertise is what needs to be supported and promoted widely.
Going back to the topic, this workshop was special because, along with our personal experiences about the issues of the current UK asylum and immigration system, we had an honest and friendly discussion with the participants about identifying the challenges while working with people with lived experience and finding the solutions together. This is why at A&M, we always highlight the importance of lived and learnt experience.
We believe that the combination of these two makes a successful collaboration and, therefore, meaningful involvement with people with lived experience.
P.S. Yes, you are right; we intentionally matched the colours of our outfits for the day! They are A&M brand colours, and we love them!
